Horse Boys- This one is by far the strangest mod on the list. This mod definitely succeeds in making the cows much cuter, and players can also download another version that makes all of the animals fatter. This makes all of the cows in the game chunkier versions of their former selves. Cuter Fatter Cows- This mod is for players who feel like the game's cows aren't quite cute enough. With this mod, players can fall in love with their favorite character all over again, but this time that character is a monster. This mod changes the looks of both the sprites and their character portraits into cute monstrous alternatives. Monster Valley- Many of the mods in Stardew Valley are centered around altering the looks of the game's characters. The coolest aspect of the mod is that there are seasonal differences for the buildings as well so for example in the winter they will be covered in snow and icicles. Seasonal Victorian Buildings- This mod will give all the buildings on the player's farm a Victorian-era style change. This mod will completely remove the spouse's room from the house and stop their horrible eyesore from ruining the aesthetic. Once they move in they will add their own room onto the player's house and their decor almost never matches the style that the player has for the rest of the house. 
No Spouse Rooms- This may seem a little petty, but it can be really annoying to get married in Stardew Valley and then have the spouse move in and change the decor.By backing them up players can completely revert any changes made that potentially mes up Stardew Valley. Mistakes can be made while modding, so it would be a shame to completely corrupt save files in the game. This basically streamlines the modding process and will allow players to disable any mods that they don't wish to have in their game any longer.īefore messing around with any mods though, players should make sure to back up Stardew Valley first. This will allow players to keep track of all of their mods as well as keep SMAPI updated.
This is a more complicated way to install and handle mods, but once done players will be able to do a lot more interesting things with Stardew Valley in the long run, as it allows them to use the much more complicated DLL mods.įinally, the last thing that players will want to check out before modding is the Stardew Valley ModManager (SDVMM).
More complex mods will require players to download the Stardew Modding API (SMAPI) which will allow the API to make deeper changes to the game.
